COMPREHENSIVE MEMORY ASSESSMENT

£2,495

  • Your Screening Includes:

Initial Consultation with Memory Specialist Psychiatrist

A 60-90 minute private consultation to explore your history, symptoms, concerns, and lifestyle. We take the time to truly understand what’s changing and why it matters to you.

    Formal Cognitive Testing

A detailed neuropsychological assessment measuring memory, attention, language, processing speed, and executive function to highlight strengths and uncover subtle changes.

    Comprehensive Blood Panel

We test for a broad range of reversible or contributory causes of cognitive symptoms, including:

    Thyroid dysfunction

    Vitamin B12 & folate deficiency

    Iron and anaemia markers

    Inflammation and infection (CRP, ESR)

    Liver and kidney function

    Glucose/HbA1c (diabetes risk)

    Cholesterol and lipid profile

    MRI Brain Scan

High-resolution neuroimaging to assess brain structure, atrophy patterns, white matter changes, and vascular contributions. Reporting by a specialist neuroradiologist.

    Follow-Up Consultation & Report

You’ll meet again with your consultant psychiatrist (and private GP if required) to discuss your results in detail.

You’ll receive a written medical report and, where needed, a tailored plan for lifestyle modification, onward referral, or continued care.

Optional enhancements include genetic testing, advanced imaging, and fast-track referral to leading neurology specialists, allowing us to tailor the pathway to your individual needs. These will be discussed with you at the follow up consultation.

MEMORY HEALTH

Targeting Your Memory Loss

Memory concerns do not always signal dementia. Cognitive changes may arise from reversible factors such as cardiovascular health, sleep disturbance, hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, or the effects of stress, medication, and inflammation.

At The Private Doctors, we take a measured and thorough approach. By assessing physical health, neurological function, and psychological wellbeing together, we identify treatable causes and provide clarity, reassurance, and a tailored plan of care.

PROTECT YOUR PAST

Advancements in Alzheimer's Treatment

Recent years have seen significant progress in Alzheimer's disease treatment. Notably:

Donanemab (Kisunla): Approved by the FDA in July 2024, this monoclonal antibody targets amyloid plaques in the brain, aiming to slow cognitive decline in early-stage Alzheimer's patients

Lecanemab (Leqembi): Also approved by the FDA, lecanemab works similarly by targeting amyloid beta proteins, offering hope for those in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

While these treatments are not cures, they represent a shift towards disease-modifying therapies. Early detection through comprehensive screening is crucial to determine eligibility and potential benefit from such treatments.
