  • Which blood tests do you offer?

    We provide access to over 1,500 individual blood markers covering wellness screening (cholesterol, thyroid, liver, kidney, glucose), comprehensive hormone panels (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, FSH, cortisol), nutrient deficiency checks (vitamin D, B12, iron, folate), cardiovascular risk assessment, cancer screening markers (PSA, CEA, CA markers), thyroid function, inflammatory markers, metabolic health, and specialist investigations for specific conditions. Rather than choosing in advance, you book a GP consultation first (from £80), discuss your health concerns and symptoms with your doctor, and they'll recommend the right panel for your situation — the blood test is then taken immediately at the same appointment. This ensures you're not over-tested or under-tested, and your results are interpreted professionally by the doctor who knows your full history.


  • Do I need a referral?

    No referral is required. At The Private Doctors you can book a blood test directly, and our doctors will guide you on the most appropriate panels. Your results are reviewed by a clinician and explained with clear next steps if further care is needed.

    Please arrange a GP consultation - your bloods tests can be taken immediately after your consultation.

  • How quickly will I get my results?

    Most routine blood test results are available within 24 to 48 hours. More specialised tests may take a little longer, and we will let you know expected timeframes at the time of your appointment. As soon as results are ready, a doctor will review them and share a clear explanation with you, along with any recommended next steps.

  • Can I get blood taken without a consultation?

    Not quite. Here's why:


    A GP consultation is essential because:



    We need to know your medical history (medications, conditions, family history)

    Doctor needs to recommend the right blood panel for you

    Results need professional interpretation

  • Can I have my blood taken at home?

    Yes. We offer a home visit service where one of our clinicians can carry out your blood test in the comfort and privacy of your own home. This is especially convenient if you have a busy schedule or would prefer not to travel to the clinic. 

  • Will a doctor explain my results?

    Yes. At The Private Doctors, every investigation includes a complimentary virtual consultation with the GP who arranged your tests. 

    This ensures your results are explained in clear, meaningful terms, with time to address your questions and discuss next steps.

  • Can you share results with my NHS GP?

    Yes — we'll send your results to your GP if you'd like.


    Here's how it works:


    You have full control:


    • You decide whether to share results with your GP
    • No information goes anywhere without your permission
    • You can choose specific results to share or all of them

    If you want results sent to your GP:


    1. Tell us at your appointment — "Please send results to my GP"
    2. We'll ask for your GP's contact details (name, practice, address)
    3. After results are ready, we send your GP a copy
    4. Your GP receives the full report — same detail you see
