PREVENTATIVE HEALTHCARE
Heart Health Assessment
Designed to help identify hidden cardiovascular risk before it becomes a serious problem.
AN IN-DEPTH ASSESSMENT OF HEART HEALTH
Our heart assessment is designed for patients who want to look beyond standard cholesterol checks, identify hidden and understand the key pillars of heart health, from electrical activity and heart structure to exercise capacity, lung function and silent plaque risk.

2 x Private Doctor consultations
An initial 30 minute private doctor consultation to discuss your past medical history, family and social history and carry out a full cardiac examination.
Once the investigations are reviewed, a follow up consultation is carried out to discuss key findings and devise a plan.
Advanced Heart Biomarkers (including ApoB and Lipoprotein A)
Blood tests assess general health, cholesterol, diabetic risk, kidney, liver and thyroid function, as well as more advanced cardiovascular risk markers.
We routinely check
ApoB - which helps measure the number of cholesterol-carrying particles that can contribute to plaque build-up.
Lipoprotein(a) - an inherited risk marker linked to higher risk of heart disease, stroke and aortic valve disease.
These give a more detailed picture of hidden cardiovascular risk than standard cholesterol testing alone.
Diagnostic and Functional tests
Our package includes
- ECG to assess heart rhythm and electrical activity
- Spirometry to measure lung function
- 24-hour blood pressure monitoring to identify hidden or variable high blood pressure (if required)
- Full body composition scan to measure body fat, muscle mass and visceral fat
- VO₂ max testing using VentriJect to estimate cardiorespiratory fitness quickly without exercise
- Echocardiogram to assess heart structure, pumping strength and valve function
Consultant Cardiologist Review
Consultant Cardiologist review to provide specialist interpretation of your cardiac results with clear advice on prevention, further testing (including CT Calcium Score) or onward referral where needed.
Any further tests including CT/MRI scans are chargeable seperately.
Aftercare and ongoing support
You will receive a written report summarising your results, cardiovascular risk profile, key findings and personalised recommendations.
Where appropriate, we can provide medication advice or prescriptions for issues such as raised blood pressure, cholesterol or other cardiovascular risk factors.
Should you require any further investigations or consultations, these are charged seperately.
Patients can choose to continue privately with follow-up appointments and longer-term management, or we can share results and recommendations with their NHS GP or private medical insurance provider for ongoing care.
AN IN-DEPTH ASSESSMENT OF HEART HEALTH
Heart disease is responsible for around 1 in 4 deaths and many millions are living with risk factors without knowing it. Raised blood pressure is linked to around half of heart attacks and strokes, while inherited markers such as Lipoprotein(a) can increase risk even when routine cholesterol results look normal.
Our Heart Health Assessment is designed to uncover these hidden risks earlier, helping patients understand their heart health and put practical steps in place to reduce future risk
ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC OPTIONS
Full Body MRI
Where TruCheck cancer screening is not clinically suitable, full body MRI may be recommended according to your medical history and clinical findings, offering broader imaging insight across multiple body systems where additional structural screening is appropriate.
CT Calcium Score
Provides deeper cardiovascular risk assessment by identifying coronary artery calcification.

Common Questions
Who should consider a Heart Health Assessment?
We believe most adults can benefit from understanding their heart health, even if they feel well.
Heart disease often develops silently.
This assessment is particularly important for patients with a family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, diabetes, high stress levels, breathlessness, palpitations, chest discomfort or reduced exercise tolerance.
Why is heart screening important if I have no symptoms?
Heart disease often develops silently. Raised blood pressure, cholesterol abnormalities, inherited markers such as Lipoprotein(a), early plaque build-up and changes in heart function can be present for years without obvious symptoms.
Screening helps identify these risks earlier, when there is more opportunity to reduce future risk.
Why is a CT calcium score not included as standard?
A CT calcium score is not necessary or appropriate for every patient.
Some patients can have their cardiovascular risk assessed clearly through their medical history, blood results, ECG, echocardiogram and Consultant Cardiologist review.
For others, a CT calcium score, CT coronary angiogram or stress echocardiogram may be more appropriate depending on symptoms, risk factors and clinical findings.
Because CT calcium scoring involves radiation exposure, we only arrange it where it is clinically appropriate, ensuring further testing is personalised rather than added automatically.
What is not included in the price?
The assessment price includes the consultations, tests and report listed above.
Further investigations recommended after the Consultant Cardiologist review, such as CT calcium score, CT coronary angiogram or stress echocardiogram, are not included.
These can be arranged privately on a self-funded basis, referred through private medical insurance or referred back to your your NHS GP.
If a further Consultant Cardiologist appointment is required to review additional test results, this is charged separately at £250.
Can my business pay for a Heart Health Assessment?
Many employers choose to fund preventive health assessments for directors, senior teams and key employees. HMRC allows one health-screening assessment and one medical check-up per employee per tax year to be provided without creating a taxable benefit, provided the relevant conditions are met.
Patients and employers should confirm suitability with their accountant or tax adviser, particularly where further investigations, treatment or ongoing medical care are required.
