LISTEN TO THE PATIENTS WE CARE FOR
Delivering The Highest Standard of Concierge Medical Care
I have now met a number of the team and they are so professional, compassionate, and incredibly efficient. Appointments run on time, communication is clear, and nothing ever feels rushed. They take the time to listen, explain, and make sure you feel supported every step of the way. I've seen them go the extra mile in my care a number of times. It’s rare to find healthcare that feels this personal and this high‑quality.

As a CEO in a fast-paced, time-demanding industry, I’ve tried several health screening services, but The Private Doctors in Leeds stand out.
They offered a far deeper level of insight, with privacy, comfort, and genuine understanding at the core. What really impressed me was the aftercare; once my health was assessed, they supported me with a clear, ongoing programme.

I have two children registered with Dr Chaggar. A boy and a girl. He has been incredible, responsive and always goes way beyond. We are so grateful for all his help. He’s super with us as parents too. He has an excellent mix of professionalism and empathy. Highly recommend.

What an absolutely amazing practice. Dr Raj was so compassionate and listened to my wife’s worry’s. She had her bloods tested and received the results rapidly and efficiently, which has really helped her understand what is going on with her health. I recommend this service highly and will be advising my own clients to use it. Fantastic!

EVERYTHING ANSWERED
Commonly Asked Questions
Do I need a GP referral to see a specialist?
No. All our specialist clinics offer direct access, which means you can book a consultation with a consultant cardiologist, dermatologist, women's health specialist, or our professor-led Pain & Fatigue clinic yourself — no referral letter, no approval from your GP, no intermediary steps.
Simply choose the clinic you need and book online or by phone. If you are unsure which specialist is right for your concern, call us on 0113 388 6399 and our team will guide you.
Is it worth seeing a specialist privately?
For many patients, yes — and the value lies in three things.
Time. Consultations are unhurried, typically 30 to 60 minutes, giving your specialist the time to take a full history, examine you properly, and explain your options clearly.
Directness. You see a senior consultant from your very first appointment, and investigations can often be arranged the same day rather than across multiple visits.
Continuity. The specialist who assesses you is the specialist who reviews your results and manages your ongoing care, with reports shared with your GP so nothing is lost between appointments.
If you are weighing it up, call us on 0113 388 6399 — we are happy to talk through whether a specialist consultation is right for your situation.
How quickly can I be seen by a specialist?
Same-day or next-day appointments are typically available across all our specialist clinics.
Once you book, we prioritise seeing you promptly — and where clinically appropriate, investigations such as blood tests, ECGs, and ultrasound can be completed during the same visit.
Call 0113 388 6399 or book online at www.theprivatedoctors.co.uk/booking.
What specialists are available at The Private Doctors?
Our specialist clinics are led by senior consultants and academic clinicians, each with direct access and same-day or next-day availability:
Cardiology — Dr Dev Zamvar, Consultant Cardiologist with nearly 20 years' experience in coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, valve disorders, preventative and sports cardiology.
Dermatology — Consultant-led assessment and treatment of skin conditions, moles and lesions, including minor procedures with histopathology.
Women's Health — Specialist care in menopause and perimenopause, menstrual health, hormone therapy, contraception, and gynaecological concerns.
Chronic Pain & Fatigue — Led by Professor Manoj Sivan, a world-leading authority in pain and fatigue medicine, covering musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Long COVID, and PoTS.
All clinics are held at our Roundhay clinic in Leeds, with virtual appointments available where clinically appropriate.
Can specialists do tests and procedures on the day?
Yes, in many cases. Blood tests, ECGs, diagnostic ultrasound, and certain injections can be completed during your consultation appointment. More involved procedures, such as minor skin surgery, may be performed on the day or scheduled for a convenient follow-up, depending on what is clinically appropriate.
Your specialist will discuss exactly what is possible at your initial consultation, so you know what to expect before anything is arranged.
Will my GP be kept informed?
Yes, with your consent. Following your consultation, your specialist prepares a detailed report summarising the assessment, any investigations, and the recommended plan, which we send to your GP so your records remain complete and your care stays coordinated.
If you would prefer your consultation to remain private, simply let us know — reports are only shared with your permission.
Can I claim specialist visits on private health insurance?
We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurers directly. However, we automatically provide itemised receipts for every appointment, investigation, and procedure, which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
The process is straightforward: pay at the time of your appointment, submit your itemised receipt along with any referral letters we provide, and your insurer will confirm your reimbursement eligibility. If your insurer requires additional documentation, contact us at admin@theprivatedoctors.co.uk and we will arrange it.
Where is your specialist clinic, and do you see patients from outside Leeds?
Our specialist clinics are held at The Private Doctors, 1st Floor, 52 Street Lane, Roundhay, Leeds LS8 2ET — with free private parking and easy access from across north Leeds, including Alwoodley, Chapel Allerton, and Moortown.
We regularly welcome patients from further afield, including Harrogate, Wetherby, Ilkley, York, and across Yorkshire. For those travelling a distance, virtual consultations are available at the same fee and are well suited to initial assessments, results reviews, and ongoing management. Your specialist will advise if a face-to-face appointment is needed for examination, investigations, or procedures.
How do I book a specialist appointment?
Booking is simple, with same-day or next-day availability across all specialist clinics:
