WHAT PATIENTS SAY

Trusted by over 1,000 patients in Yorkshire

I have now met a number of the team and they are so professional, compassionate, and incredibly efficient. They take the time to listen, explain, and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.

I've seen them go the extra mile in my care a number of times. It’s rare to find healthcare that feels this personal and this high‑quality.

As a CEO in a fast-paced, time-demanding industry, I’ve tried several health screening services, but The Private Doctors in Leeds stand out.

They offered a far deeper level of insight, with privacy, comfort, and genuine understanding at the core. What really impressed me was the aftercare; once my health was assessed, they supported me with a clear, ongoing programme.

I have two children registered with Dr Chaggar. A boy and a girl. He has been incredible, responsive and always goes way beyond. We are so grateful for all his help. He’s super with us as parents too.

He has an excellent mix of professionalism and empathy. Highly recommend.

What an absolutely amazing practice. Dr Anna was so compassionate and listened to my wife’s worry’s. She had her bloods tested and received the results rapidly and efficiently, which has really helped her understand what is going on with her health. I recommend this service highly and will be advising my own clients to use it. Fantastic!

EVERYTHING ANSWERED

Commonly Asked Questions

  • Is the appointment confidential?

Yes. Your appointment is entirely private. We do not share results with your NHS GP unless you explicitly ask us to — this is your choice. We can include or exclude your visit from NHS records completely.

  • How soon after intercourse can I be tested for STIs?

It depends on which infection you're concerned about. Different STIs have "window periods"—the time it takes for tests to detect infection after exposure.

For bacterial infections (chlamydia and gonorrhoea):

Testing is most reliable from 14 days after exposure. Tests can occasionally detect these as early as 7 days, but 2 weeks gives the most reliable result. Testing earlier than this may give a false negative.

For blood-borne infections (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis):

    These take considerably longer:

HIV: 18–45 days (modern antigen/antibody tests)

    Syphilis: 3–4 weeks

    Hepatitis B and C: 4–12 weeks

  • How quickly can I be seen?

Same-day and next-day appointments are typically available. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday 10am–2pm.

  • Can I have a virtual appointment?

Yes. You can have your initial consultation by video or phone. If in-clinic testing is required, we'll arrange that at a separate appointment — or provide home collection instructions.

  • What if I test positive for an STI?

We'll discuss treatment options and next steps in a follow-up consultation at no additional charge. We can also provide partner notification support or referrals to specialist care if needed.

  • Can I choose a male or female doctor?

Yes. You can request a male or female GP when booking — we have both on our team.

  • Do you prescribe antibiotics?

Yes. If you require treatment following a positive result, we can issue private prescriptions. These can be sent to your phone or delivered the same day.
